How to post html template on themeforest?

Good afternoon, please tell me a newbie. I have a ready html template. I want to try to put it on the themeforest. As far as I remember, in order to present your template, you need Preview, and for this, respectively, have a domain and hosting, if I understand correctly. The question is, what requirements should hosting and domain meet?
Do you need a domain at all if it's just a demo?
Do I need to protect the template from ddos attacks if the hosting does not offer these services? )
And what, in principle, is a demo (is this a full-fledged site?) ?
I apologize in advance if the questions are too dumb.

Absolutely any hosting is suitable for hosting a demo template, well, preferably not free.
Domain, subdomain - there is no difference, but it is necessary, the site must open from somewhere.
As it is usually implemented by other sellers, as far as I noticed.
There is a website of a certain studio that develops templates, let's call it greencooltemplate.com .
They also have a subdomain - demo .greencooltemplate.com, on which either the first template hangs, or nothing.
Then there are three options for the development of the branch.
1) Make subdomains - first .demo.greencooltemplate.com (used but rare)
2) Make subfolders - demo.greencooltemplate.com/ first/ (the most common option)
3) Make both domains and subfolders - first .demo.greencooltemplate.com/ joomla / (used if the author makes a theme template for several engines at once, the rarest option)
I personally have templates and demo sites are laid out on a separate domain.
It makes no sense to protect the template from attacks, because there will be no attendance. Remove a site from the index and the probability that it will be found at all is reduced to zero. I mean, except for visits via a direct link through Envato.
Demo - this is a full-fledged site where you can "feel" the template "live", and not view the screenshots.
Texts and pictures, of course, are used "fish", and not content from copywriters)
You also need complete correct documentation for the template.
Yes, the questions are a bit stupid :)

@xmoonlight

Not necessarily a DEMO!
It is necessary to make out at first to it to dock.

To get started, read what Parsing is, otherwise, on the same day, your template will be posted with free access, only on other sites.
