Will the Blue-ray drive work normally when connected through a box with a USB 2.0 interface?

Hello!
I am planning to buy a box for an external DVD-ROM, into which I am going to insert a Blue-ray DVD-ROM from a laptop. Is a box with USB 2.0 enough in this case, or should we look at USB 3.0?

Normally, in extreme cases, it will limit the write speed so that the data is transferred correctly. I wrote discs on the first version, and it was very, very slow.
