Will non-DELL drives fit the DELL MD3800f storage system?

Essence of the question.
There is a shelf DELL MD3800f. It has 12 4TB screws. The place became small. The option of replacing hard drives with 8TB is being considered. The shelf supports screws up to 10TB Will WD red pro 8TB
disks work on it ? Or just WD red 8TB . As far as I understand, they are all not SAS. Or will you have to buy the disks from DELL? If anyone has any experience with changing discs please let me know.

You have to buy DELL. "I recognize the sweetheart by the firmware":

To clarify for anyone else finding this thread: NO, you cannot use drives in the MD3000 family of storage arrays unless they have been purchased from Dell. Even identical drives to those installed in the array or on the compatibility list will not work. Apparently Dell does flash a custom firmware on the drive, and the controller rejects any drive without it. Even though the firmware is available to download from Dell's support website, I have not found a way to flash it. The manufacturer's drive utility will not recognize the Dell firmware. I am still looking for a way around this myself...
