For myself, I decided that the e-ink reader is good for consistent, calm reading - for example, fiction. If the book has graphs, code listings, diagrams, or if you need to constantly flip it back and forth, electronic ink is not convenient. The speed of work, ease of management begin to play an important role here, and as a result, it is easier to transfer to a computer or take a regular (ios / android) tablet.

Everything depends on the book. Now there are few formats specifically for e-books. Basically, all popular books are scanned PDFs. There are good ones, and sometimes just soap that is impossible to read.

The question implies - "read PDF". I tried it - it's not very convenient, since the font cannot be tweaked in it, the screen is small, and the proportion of graphics in the PDF file structure is usually significant. Technical literature is not in PDF, but in other formats that allow font adjustment - a rarity.

PocketBook 515 is well suited exclusively for fiction. Convenient to take with you, fits in any pocket, etc. But, given that all the technical stuff comes in pdf and djvu formats, designed for a much larger format, the only model that promises to adequately cope with this is the PocketBook 840. We are waiting for sale.

if it is 5", then definitely NO!
6" can only be read in text formats (ePUB / mobi)
PDF / DJVU - at least 8"
