What to read on the general concept of programming?
I often met in articles / comments mentions of such books, which outline the basic concepts and programming techniques that would be good to read regardless of the language used in order to improve quality, readability, and understandability. However, why did not consider it necessary to save. Let me know, I'll be grateful! And in general, maybe you should not read them? Maybe they fill their heads with other people's thoughts and approaches to specific tasks, they kill original ideas, what do you think?

Stephen McConnell, Robert Martin (Uncle Bob), Martin Fowler - IMHO, they must be read, if not more than once.
Donald Knuth, Erich Gamma and company - already optional, but still recommended reading.
Further already, kmk, you can look if necessary. For example, I see the DDD approach as very correct (when developing complex systems), then Eric Evans, Jim Nilson, Vaughn Vernon can be included in the list.
Yes, also worth mentioning authors such as Kent Beck and Alistair Coburn
