Will Chrome remove support for the H.264 codec?

Who knows, sign up. Should I convert the video to WebM (VP8) format for this?

I revised the date of the question three times, and still saw that it was written in 2016.
All the same, Google will not do this instantly for all users - you will still have time to convert when it becomes known for sure, but for now there is nothing to take a steam bath.
