Will an external monitor work on a laptop with a damaged video accelerator?
Hello! Tell me, please, will an external FullHD monitor work on a laptop with a "lost" video chip? Built-in monitor works, but no Windows Aero support, video playback with artifacts in VLC, no support for 3D applications (obviously no hardware acceleration). In the browser, videos are played with a bang.

I bought a new monitor in the store, connected it - it works) True, without drivers it’s just in HD, everything is exactly the same as with the built-in
More likely no than yes.
If the problem is in damage to the video controller.
And not a loop to the built-in screen.
But I think it's easy to check.
The laptop is portable.
Don't you have friends with monitors?
Yes, and many modern TVs are able to connect to a computer.
The problems described are problems with the driver.
And not directly with the video adapter.
And one more consideration - modern laptops usually have 2 video controllers: an internal processor and a discrete separate second.
