Why won't wifi connect on asus x751m laptop?

The laptop has an OS downloaded from the Microsoft website (Windows 8.1 64 bit) and activated with the left key. Wifi is not connecting. Asks to connect via ethernet. The driver for the built-in Wi-Fi adapter is installed from the asus website. On windows 10 pirated installed on the same laptop, everything works. What can be done?
