Why won't the bios start with a new video card?

A video card was recently purchased - nvidia geforce gt 740 oc 2gd5
Unfortunately, it did not want to work - when turned on, the start screen hung, the buttons (F, del) did not react in any way. attempts to call the BIOS menu were unsuccessful.
I think this is a compatibility issue with the board, but can you advise something.

Update the BIOS (attention to the revision of the board, the BIOS for different revisions may vary).
F12 with its concise "Improve System compatibility" could be just about that.
