Why was Java chosen for Android development?
As I recently learned, in addition to standard Java development for Android, there is also Basic4Android, Delphi XE. Why do most developers choose the development path through Java, if development is much easier on Basic4Android, Delphi XE, as the creators of Basic4Android, Delphi XE say?

On Basic4Android, Delphi XE, development, sorry, through the ass.
1. Java version is supported by the manufacturer (Google)
2. The community is much, much bigger
These two points should be enough. There may be many more of them, but I didn’t work with Basic4Android and Delphi XE and I don’t know all the jambs that come out because of them)
> if on Basic4Android, Delphi XE development is much easier as the creators of Basic4Android, Delphi XE say?
and you expected that the manufacturer of some unknown garbage called "Basic4Android" would say "never try, it's much more difficult than in Java!!1"
Every sandpiper will praise his swamp. You still remember delphi for puff.
In my subjective opinion, this is all heresy.
Study the approach proposed by the author of the system, and all the rattles - then.
Why do most developers choose the development path through Java, if development is much easier on Basic4Android, Delphi XE, as the creators of Basic4Android, Delphi XE say?Because it's a marketing bullshit.
Tried somehow on Delphi XE (XE 5 it seems) I sketched out the simplest application for testing. I was shocked by such brakes in the application, which I did not try again. I don’t see the point - I just use Android studio and don’t sweat my brain.
The only thing that makes sense to use instead of java is kotlin, but only if you are a hipster and are ready to take risks like "everything stopped working" from scratch. So far, I don't recommend it.
Basic4Android, Kivy and others like them are rubbish and do not deserve attention.
There is also xamarin and, probably, its followers will tell you how good and cross-platform it is, but I don’t presume to judge either of them or their framework, because I have nothing to do with it and I’m unlikely to have it.
