Why terminal hangs when trying to initialize npm?

When you try to do npm init, the console hangs at the moment you select the version (version). Terminal iTerm2, but the default is the same. Tried to do it with yarn - same problem. This is not such an important problem, but I would like to solve it.
npm 5.3.0 (updated to latest)
