Why such high prices for Thunderbolt?

Hello. I don’t understand what causes such prices for Thunderbolt devices? Take the same GoFlex from Seagate (one drive, and docking stations USB 2.0 / 3.0, FireWire, Thunderbolt), you can find USB 3.0, FireWire for a couple of thousand, and Thunderbolt already from 6 thousand rubles. Hard drives per terabyte cost 10 thousand rubles each. Will prices drop in the future? Was it the same story with FireWire?

Thunderbolt is intel , not apple
Expensive because there are no alternatives, and there are no alternatives because the market is relatively small and manufacturers skim cream off a solvent audience.

Firstly, this feature is proprietary, which means that manufacturers are obliged to dump the creator.
Secondly, it is the only one and there are no analogues with the same speed of work.
