Why remove dev branch from svn?

In svn we have 2 main branches trunk, develop.
develop - new scrums, trunk - to the production server.
PhpStorm gives a warning that the branch will not be relevant and you need to delete it...
I didn't learn English well at school, so I might not understand something...
But why? And should it be done?

Drives your PhpStorm. First, it doesn't offer to delete anything. He simply writes that after integrating the changes into the trunk, it will not be possible to simply take the changes from the trunk back to develop, and it will not be possible to merge the changes again.
It seems to me that both restrictions may have been relevant for SVN 1.6 and earlier, and in SVN 1.8 and 1.9 everything should work even with cross-merges. How much I read the official SVN doc, I did not see such a restriction.

Rather, it is worth asking the question - why do you need branches in svn? He doesn't seem to be very friendly with them.
And in fact - a screenshot of the message to the studio.
