Why not merge some tags on Toaster?

In fact, many tags duplicate each other, despite the fact that you can specify additional options in synonyms. And the subscribers of these groups could be combined.
It would be great if tag merge suggestions could be sent to the Toaster moderators for moderation.

Only service administrators have the authority to merge and delete tags, i.e. suggestions for gluing and removing tags should be sent to the feedback form.
It should be noted that the working day of a support service employee, as a rule, is full of more relevant tasks, so non-critical tasks, such as working with tags, are solved by them in their free time.
The process itself is quite laborious:

  • before merging a tag, you need to look through its entire feed and make sure that there are no questions that are not related to the tag with which the merging is planned ( if such questions are found, accordingly, you have to edit them and indicate the tags that are relevant to them );
  • before deleting a tag, you need to look through its entire feed and make sure that it does not contain questions related only to this tag ( if such questions are found, accordingly, you have to edit them and indicate the tags that are relevant to them ).
Recently, the DevMan moderator has been actively helping us with this ( that's why users often receive mentions that he made changes to their question ) and we can only carry out the merging / deleting transaction.
Since the number of tags is finite, I hope that sooner or later we will get rid of useless and abstract tags ( for example, "request" or "online" ) that appeared at a time when anyone could create a tag, and bring the tagging system to a balance with where tag subscribers will receive only relevant questions, and questioners will have a better chance of finding an answer.
