Why are there no buttons in the comments for quickly inserting HTML tags: "B", "I", "U", "S", and most importantly - code / pre?

At least code/pre should be.
And then the HTML code is chewed up because of the triangle brackets, if you do not enclose it in something like that. And it’s inconvenient to conclude, because there is no button.
All of the above is supported in the comments, as befits a programming forum. And there are no buttons.

Actually, the question " why " you are unlikely to get an answer.
The answer to the question " when they will appear " is very, very soon, judging by the current activity of the administration.
The answer to the question " what to do " you yourself know.
