Why might the PC not turn on after adding RAM?
Hi friends. Such a situation happened today, after upgrading my PC with a new 8 GB RAM bar, the computer stopped turning on, that is, when you press the power button, everything starts (coolers, hard drive, all indicators are on), but the screen is dark and the computer does not load anything. I thought that the RAMs themselves were not compatible, but there is a nuance, when I inserted the bar, I cleaned the PC and changed the thermal paste at the same time, and before stuffing everything back, I connected everything to check if the bar fit, and the computer was loaded and worked well - 1 time. Aida showed 16 gigabytes. But after I put everything in the case and turned it on, the computer stopped booting. When I pull out one bar, it starts to load and work. I also tried to start the computer on one bar, then insert another with it on, then reboot and then the RAM also works and all programs display my 16 gigabytes, but as soon as I turn it off, it does not load again. What could be the problem? If the RAMs were not compatible, they would probably not work at all, or am I wrong?

Once upon a time it was. It turned out that with the memory installed, the board flexed a little and shorted to the case
Turn off the computer
Remove the first bar and stick a new one in there:
1) If it does not start, the bar is burned out.
2) If it starts up, the second memory slot has burned out.
The question was asked over two years ago, but I ran into a similar situation today.
Three RAM sticks were installed on the board (two from one manufacturer X and one from another manufacturer Y), - X,X || Y,_.
and I decided to add a fourth one (manufacturer Y).
In general, set: X,X || Y,Y.
- The system began to beep intermittently.
- Removed the new one. I'm launching.
- The system beeps. Doesn't start.
- I'm covered in a little sweat.
- He took out all the dies, wiped the contacts and blew out the sockets.
- Smoked.
- Inserted all the dice: X,Y || X,Y
- Launched. Everything worked. BIOS is determined.
Good luck!
