Wireless Adapter: Wi-Fi Distributor or Receiver?

Hello.
We spent the "new Internet", now the modem is far from the PC, and there is no particular desire to pull the wires. Decided to get a Wi-Fi receiver. I searched in Google, immediately gives out the online catalog with the "wireless adapters" section. Chose (and already ordered) this one .
Only now I am tormented by doubts because of one picture (3rd). There, as it were, it is drawn that 3 more laptops are connected to the laptop into which this device is inserted. And he is wired. Actually, isn't this "flash drive" a signal distributor? I need her to be able to receive a signal. And whether it will distribute - it does not matter absolutely. Should I call and cancel an order?
PS Sorry if this doesn't fit the theme of the community, I sincerely hope for your help.
