How to choose a USB-A - USB-C adapter?
I have a WD_BLACK P10 5TB
external drive that is specified as USB 3.2 Gen 1.
A MacBook Pro 16 adapter is required, but stores offer USB 3.0 adapters.
How much will such an adapter affect the speed of reading and writing? Are there compact adapters that cover the bandwidth of this drive? Or will only a separate cable with the appropriate characteristics work with the indicated speed?
Thank you!

I'm sorry, this is a spindle drive that cannot physically squeeze out more than 140 sacks (with two asterisks **) per second, and the speed of even the deadest USB 3 is 5 gigabits, that is, about 400 sacks per second.
**This is subject to linear reading, in a spherical vacuum, at the beginning of the disk, if we assume that there are a million bytes in a megabyte, and not 2 ^ 20.
It follows that you can connect it with any USB3 cable. Please note that Chinese consumer goods, suitable only for charging phones, may in fact be USB2.0
read the speed

On the other hand, there are a lot of adapters for 3.2 in stores, look at some kind of DNS
So this is a hdd with no speed that will crawl into any modern usb and three more of its speeds will remain in stock
