Why might subshell not work in mc when run as a simple user?

Hello everyone, I installed Botbrew-basil on the phone with android, rolled up mc and bash. There is an interesting problem.
When run as a user, mc does not create a subshell, that is, it does not launch a child bash and by Ctrl + O I see only the result of the last command, there is no console there. If you run it from under sudo, then the child shell starts, Ctrl + O works as usual and everything is fine. What could be the problem? What might be missing rights?

Figured it out myself. It was necessary to add the user to the tty group.
