Why make two applications?

Why do they make two applications, for example, for taxi drivers or any other performers. Customers separately, performers separately. Why can't you do everything in one?

So that the client does not break the functionality of the performer
Reduce the application itself, remove unnecessary UI elements

What's the point of combining?
Customers and performers have different interests.
Almost ALL menu items will be DIFFERENT.
You will gain nothing - except for COMPLICATION of the interface so that it will be impossible to use it.
The only argument FOR is if we are talking about distribution through Google Play, etc. - not to produce applications there.
PS:
But at the same time, no one bothers you to use common pieces of code at the source level.

As an option - to update and fix bugs separately.

The weight. Monstrous applications of 50-70 MB do not fit into the cheapest Chinese smart phones, which are so popular with taxi drivers / cleaners.
All sorts of BBK, BQ, ARK, Explay and others like them.

Because that was the specification. You can do everything in one!

Another advantage of the two applications: to make a free and paid version of the game - because the paid one has more adequate user comments in the App Store or Google Play.
