Why is Win8 RP eating 50% of the CPU in idle mode by the System process?

There are two laptops before my eyes. On the first Core 2 Duo 2GHz, on the second Pentium B940 2GHz. On the first Consumer Preview, on the second Release Preview.

Due to the fact that I'm moving from the first to the second, the software set is the same and now only GDrive is synchronizing, everything else is turned off (Skype is also off).

And it turns out that 50% of the CPU is occupied on the first one - this is GDrive trying, and on the second 95-99% due to the fact that the second half is being eaten by the System.

Has anyone come across?

One of the reasons for the load on the System process is working with disks. It is quite logical that the load dropped after replacing the hard drive, you probably changed the drive to a more productive or less worn one. The system is new, it is possible that the available drivers for your device do not work optimally under this OS, besides, Win8, as far as I know, has Beta status, certain mechanisms in it may not work optimally or with errors. So everything is logical.
