Do you seriously believe that stores buy at the regular retail price and then resell at a markup? This is only small (very, very, very small) shopkeepers do.
Normal stores have a special price - wholesale . No, they won’t sell you for this - you need to buy a lot to be given this price.
This is a normal policy for everyone, not just MS.
It does not make sense for a manufacturer to underestimate the price on its website - otherwise the product will disappear from ordinary retail stores (it will not be profitable for stores).
And buyers will gradually forget about it , and the manufacturer will be forced out by competitors.
MS always gets its share, be calm. Well, a little less than direct sales. But from a huge number of stores. So much - how much they would not be able to sell directly .
