How to upgrade skills in Active Directory?

Hey!
I have VirtualBox on Ubuntu with Windows Server 2008 installed.
Question. Why apply the settings, what to add to the domain? Are there any training virtual machines?
I don’t want to install a second Windows and administer them at the same time, because I’m afraid everything will lag terribly.

I used to install a couple of clients and a couple of controllers on a virtual machine and set up policies, dns, run scripts and much more. Without a virtual lab, it's like learning to drive a car from books. In Windows, everything is done quite simply, but it's better to try once than read a hundred times. There are many books on this subject, from the same microsoft tutorials on any subject, especially from books, useful sections with recommendations on how to do it right.
There are also laboratories from Microsoft:

Basically already answered. I can put in my two cents - I would advise you to deploy your own cluster (or standalone hypervisors), deploy _several forests, several sites in each forest and try to work out scenarios close to real ones. Labs from MS are miserable and you will not get experience on them.
