Why is there only 2GB of memory in a 6GB video card?
Hello. Bought a Gigabyte PCI-Ex GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB . I recently noticed that some games complain about too little memory. Here's what Windows shows:
I'm far from an expert, but please help me figure it out
- Do I understand correctly that there are only 2 GB of memory in the video card, and it can use 4 more from RAM?
- Is it such a video card, or do I just have incorrect settings?
- Is it normal that the site says 6gb, but really only 2gb is available? And nowhere is there any information about 2 GB.
- How to understand how much memory is actually in the video card? Maybe in some GeForce GTX 1080 11GB for one and a half pieces - 3 gigabytes of memory + 8 is used from the RAM?
- What settingsthe same video card with three gigs ? 2 in card + 1 RAM or 1 in card + 2 RAM?

Pavlo Ponomarenko , run DXDiag and see what it shows.
Well, GPU-Z, a fluffy bagel (Furmark) or some tridemark.
Most likely, this is just a bug in Win 7 with "non-display" (and games also do not understand), it is easily treated by applying this patch
