Why is there no "Standard Network Adapter" in Windows?
Philosophical question.
When installing Windows (for example, 7) on some fresh configuration, it is highly likely that we will get a working keyboard, mouse and video card with the following entries "Standard keyboard", the same mouse and "Standard VGA display adapter". This seems to be enough to install the rest of the drivers.
But it's much more convenient to get another "Standard network adapter", which, albeit crookedly-obliquely-10mbit, will pump out the necessary drivers.
Why did manufacturers (programmers?) not organize this fundamental compatibility for all equipment, but limited themselves to only basic input devices and video cards, as if we were in some 1987?
