Why is there no picture in games?

Good time! Faced the following problem. Connected the TV to the computer via a dvi/hdmi cable. Everything worked great except for one nuance - when you try to enter one of the games, the picture disappears. Subsequently, trying to solve the problem, everything came to the fact that the launch of any of the games was accompanied by a "black screen". By the way, when you connect your computer to another TV / monitor, everything works fine. What could be the matter, and how to solve this problem? Thank you.

Are you sure that the game is running on this TV? Perhaps it is displayed on the main monitor, which you turned off but left connected to the computer (winodws considers that such a monitor exists and allows you to display information on it and make it the main one).
Even if the game launcher window is on the second monitor, directx/opengl games may not take into account the presence of the second monitor and display everything on the main (first). For such, it is recommended to switch the current monitor before starting (and return when finished, ati even has a utility that allows you to do this automatically, but that was a long time ago)
