Why is there no option to watch in 2K, 4K and 8K on YouTube?
It is not possible to watch any videos higher than 1080p, I have a MacBook Pro 13" 2018 16Gb RAM with a screen resolution like 2560x1600
Is it because of the display resolution? It thinks it makes no sense to show 8K on a monitor where there are not so many pixels?

Firstly, video with a resolution higher than FullHD is still available on YT. There are even webcams with this resolution broadcasting via YT. I look at one of them with pleasure almost every day.
Secondly, yes, I have to admit that there is still little content with such a resolution. But you don’t have to attribute this shortcoming to YT itself, the reason here is that they don’t post this much, because they don’t shoot enough of it (for me personally, FullHD is almost always enough).
Thirdly, something can really depend on YT. Indeed, with the growth of ultra-high-resolution content, it will be necessary to capitally (by orders of magnitude) increase both storage volumes and the “thickness” of distribution channels. Both of these are very expensive. I am sure that those who are responsible for this growth in YT and who have to allocate money for this, this growth is extremely unpleasant for them. And I'm sure they pray to the Lord (and even come up with technical measures) to press this content, not to let it grow uncontrollably. In an attempt to embrace the immensity, you can become bankrupt.
