Why is the WMU rate not falling?
Yesterday WebMoney published the news that now they do not redeem WMU:
webmoney.ua/news/zayava.html
WMU is now essentially a completely virtual currency.
The question arises: why the exchange rate has not collapsed yet? Why would anyone buy a WMU now?

How did it not collapse? Now the minimum rate is 8.6, the maximum is 10.0
. How about this?
and this:
Perhaps a strong depreciation is still holding back hopes that everything will work out. Although everyone who wanted to merge WMU, I think, has long been merged. For example, I changed everything to WMZ yesterday morning, when the rate was 8.2.
Almost none of the outlets in Ukraine (of those that I have seen) no longer accept payments in WMU.
And those who accept - apparently have not yet managed to remove it from the site, or are not up to date with the news.
You can try ordering a pizza , for example (it looks like they don't know yet) :)
The people have a lot of confidence that WMU will not perish ... this is not liberty :)
Here are a few points.
a) WMU, of course, provides a guarantor on the territory of Ukraine, but WM is still responsible for the guarantor. It is extremely doubtful that WM will simply take and spit on one of its currencies, this will seriously shake the credibility of the system.
b) There is no problem with WMU as such, in fact the problem is only in blocked hryvnias on accounts in Ukraine, i.е. in the worst case, the VM will lose only them. And this, by the standards of VM, is a relatively small amount.
c) Points A and B must be multiplied by the fact that WMU itself is not a very popular currency, i.e. its share in the turnover is small, it is not a “financially generating” currency for WM, as a result, there is hope that in the worst case, WM will save it.
d) The WMZ guarantor is located in Ireland, for example. Hence the logical conclusion that the currency guarantor does not have to be located in the respective country, so there is simply no absolute link to Ukraine.
Already fell by 10-15%. In theory, if the matter is not resolved in the near future, the rate will become even higher ... and not 9 to 1, not 10 to 1.
