Why is the speed of copying files over a WiFi network slow?

Hello, my speed of copying files over the network is about 200-300 fps, the speed of downloading over the Internet is 400-500 (in principle, this is really the maximum for my tariff plan of my provider). And it turns out that the speed of copying files over the network is less than the speed of downloading over the Internet, what could be the problem?

What model of router? What standard are you transferring data to? Do not forget that the Device divides the channel into all!

Different devices (when copying is in progress) have a different transfer standard. See here .

Are you sure that you are downloading from the Internet and from a local computer using the same protocol?
Perhaps just locally SMB, and as a result, the speed is less.

How do you copy files over the network? For a normal test, you should either download from a local http or FTP server.

More interesting. When you copy files at home, is it one file or many? Is copying a single file faster or slower than copying multiple files?
I do not quite understand what SMB has to do with it. Of course, it does not shine with speed, but still it normally pulls 40-60 mb / s. Right now, I'm copying from one server to another over gigabit and monitoring it. I am using SMB.

Such a question, but is your router alone in the building? It was similar in my practice, one office moved to a business center, the director asked to do everything on wi-fi (printers \ laptops \ balls). I set everything up, but the speed was like yours ~ 300 fps. I scratched my turnip for a long time, one comrade explained that the trouble could be that in the building, in almost every room
there is a router, they work at the same frequency because of this problem.
