How to strengthen 3g modem?

Maybe this is a tricky question, but is it true, how to increase the speed of a 3g modem if the connection is bad?
Modem from megaphone E173, max. speed = 7Mbps, and the Internet speed in the country is 56Kbps (although with a speed limit of = 64Kbps). Help please ...
PS: As a friend-neighbor joked: “Buy a usb extension cable and throw the modem on the nearest spruce”, do not offer.

had a similar problem. I decided this way: I took an empty two-liter plastic bottle and cut it almost in half (the neck should be left whole). I covered the inside of the bottle with a whole neck with foil. I took a piece of elastic wire (although the aluminum one will also roll) and wrapped it around the edge of the USB extension cable, leaving long edges at the wire. I punched 2 holes in the bottle (which is with foil) and fixed the wire with the USB extension so that the modem turned out to be in the focus of the reflection of the foil. From the window sill, such a design plows quite well, you need to twist the current a little and find in what position the signal of the boot is the best. Personally, this design helped me improve the connection speed from 8-16 to ~ 220 Kbps.

So there are special antennas for 3G modems. They really help, increase the speed and quality of reception at times, allow you to catch 3G, where only EGDE caught.
You can even do it yourself . And here is the first one that came across from Google from finished products.

Based on personal experience, I agree with your neighbor. The USB extension cable is the easiest/cheapest and most effective way.

The simplest is copper wire, make 3 turns on the modem and bring it up 20-30 cm.

There is another parameter that you can’t control in any way - it’s called the load on a specific nearest cell.
If this is one BS per village - and everyone in the village climbs into YouTubers, contacts and Facebooks, then you won’t raise the speed of the last mile with any antennas :(

If the limit is 64 kbps, and the speed is 56, then this is normal.

you really have only 2 ways: either, as a friend said, the modem is in an extension cord and on a spruce; or, if the modem allows, you can plug an antenna into it under completely legal conditions - let's say my huawei E 160 G allows it ,

Since such a topic, please tell me how you can find out which communication modes this repeater supports?
I have a signal level on the Huawei E1750 modem > 70%, but it only catches EDGE. I want 3G.

I solved this problem in the country like this - I wrapped it with a wire, connected the wire to a television antenna on the roof. The speed increased slightly - it gave out almost a megabit, it gave out stably.
True, there was a modem from MTS, but this, I think, is not important.

I went to the garage, pulled out a meter of copper wire, wound it up, lifted it, ???? profit

My friends and I in the hostel suffered with a modem, slowly pulled the Internet, as a result, a familiar programmer suggested one site www.raisecom.su/equipment/ethernet_switches/indust... helped me choose a good one, the problems disappeared for a long time))) you have my advice, change and do not suffer)))
