Why is the project not compiling in Xamarin Studio?

In general, a rather strange question, because the error itself is somehow strange. When I change the language of Xamarin Studio to English, I get the error "Build failed. Culture name en-029 is not supported." when compiling with Mono. If I change to Russian, I get the same error, but with "ru-MD". I checked German and Chinese, everything is fine with them. The .Net compiler compiles successfully regardless of the language. Surprisingly, when I turn on the default language, which is, in fact, Russian, the error disappears. What can be wrong?
Mono 4.2.1, Xamarin Studio 5.10.2. On 5.10.1 the same trouble.
PS Has anyone reproduced this error?
