Why is the picture quality deteriorating?

So I drew the graphics for my game in Adobe Illustrator, then I decided to save it, and then open it to see the result, but when I zoom in, the pixels are very visible. Why is that?

So why are you saving it as a raster?
save to a vector (svg, eps, ai, pdf) and then there will be no pixels)
