Why is the firmware not being updated on Mikrotik 951G-2HnD?
Good afternoon! On my home router, I can’t update the firmware from 6.42.6 to any newer one. I tried to upload the one downloaded from the site, included the search for updates in Packages, and launched the terminal. The files are located, overwritten, they report that they are ready for updating, the terminal asks to reboot. But after the reboot, the version is the same. I tried to slip not the newest, but intermediate ones - the same effect. Tried firmware and current, and bug-fix.
In the logs after a reboot, there are several empty lines, then the usual picture of the user connecting and no errors. There is only one winbox user, the login \ password are self-made and differ from the standard ones.
Is it possible to get such a situation after inept (or malicious on the other side) handling the rules of the firewall and how to detect it? Could there be a situation due to some disabled service port (provided that the firmware is normally downloaded and remains in the device)?

I encountered such a problem when I did not update the axis for a long time.
Mikrotik has dependencies between the bootloader version and the OS itself. Try updating the System\Routerboard bootloader, if it doesn't help, try downloading the intermediate version update archive from the site, and then upgrade to the current one.
