Why is the equipment not pinged on the ring LAN?

Good afternoon,

Faced such a problem,
Organized a high-availability ring local network between 3 servers. Attached are 2 diagrams.
The equipment has 2-port network cards.
In the first case (see image 1) the ping goes between the 1st and 3rd server,
in the second case, the ping goes between the 1st and 2nd server.
If we listen on the port from the server from which there is no ping response using tcpdump, then we see that requests are received and at the same time ping responses do not go to the server sending the ping. As a result, it turns out that out of 3 units, pings with a response are realized between two.

What could be wrong in this network circuit?
Why, when packets arrive, no responses are given?

Can you show how your network equipment is connected on this segment.
For Ethernet, the RING topology is not at all native, and there can be a lot of jokes there.

On Linux servers? Enable packet_forward in the kernel to send packets between network connections. And you need 3 networks with a mask of 29, and not one c24. And then you look like a ring, but it will work like a star. So the switch can be installed - logically nothing will change

In Ethernet networks, high availability is organized using Bonding or LAG.
