Why is the disk not being formatted and mounted in proxmox?

There is a Huawei 2288H V5 server, proxmox 5.4 -3 is installed on it. Added 2 disks and created Raid 1 from them

How are you trying to format sde1 when it belongs to the device mapper? You need to format /dev/mapper/(long string)-part1

You can and should use the current version of PVE, and add disks using PVE,
imagine, there is now a Wipe disk button.
