Why is placeholder text not wrapping to new line in safari?

Why is placeholder text that doesn't fit in textarea length not wrapping to a new line in safari? Extra text goes one line outside the container and they are not visible.

Unfortunately, this is a bug in the browser itself. Use some third party jquery plugin that will get rid of this.
