Why is it worth doing 3D graphics?

Once I tried to learn blender and to be honest I liked it. I still remember how happy I was over a simulated cup that looked like a real one. So I wanted to know if it is worth doing this, and if so, how it will help in order to earn money.

A friend of mine started doing 3d modeling in 3ds max back in those years when there was literally nothing to eat. At his main job, he stood at some machine there, and at night he made models. Then he became a designer, then he became a co-owner of an outdoor advertising company, now he is the director of a gas station. I don't know if 3d experience helps at his last job, but where would he be if he hadn't mastered 3ds?

Very nerdy topic. More zadrotskaya than programming. To get started, go to the art room and draw cubes, owls and columns there for several years. You need a very good eye for shapes and proportions. Especially if you model a person and something similar to him. + Portfolio. Just don't get off with cubes.

Modeling by itself will not give you any income, but together with other programs (for example, creating videos, although as far as I remember, all this is done in a couple of 3d + photoshop programs) you can already become a specialist in any topic, whether it be advertising or the gaming industry (why not? many well-known companies even train specialists. Of course, not for free). In general, try to do things that bring you pleasure.

Definitely worth doing, because now you are making models, and tomorrow it will be games.
It seems to me that 3D modeling is a promising hobby, just a hobby. You should not quit your studies, university, secondary school, school for the sake of models. Let you have a checkmark in your resume that you know how to work with 3DsMax and this will only be a plus.
In addition, game developers are now making very good money. Good luck.

No, you shouldn't do this, there are enough competitors already!)
But in fact - there are a lot of directions in 3D, and there is work for each of them.

At one time he worked as a 3D graphics artist in advertising and interior design. My brother still freelances in interior design. Enough to live on, but there will be no mountains of gold, except to open your own business in this area. There are still prospects in game dev and film production, but there is less demand, and the required level is higher.
