How to estimate the cost of the first order for Android?
How much can you estimate the cost and terms of developing an Android application?
The customer already has an old client without source codes. In a good way, the design also needs to be redone, taking into account the Google guideline (although no one asked me about this).
Analogues: netflix, hulu, etc., only they will be more serious :)
I can still estimate the timing, taking into account the risks, given that this is the first order for android. But I am lost with the cost, since in my case the cost estimate for the hours spent will be inadequate. I don’t want to lose the order either, since my main motivation is experience and portfolio, and money is secondary.
For IP-TV, make a client for android. There is a ready-made backend with JSON API. Through the API, different lists of channels are obtained, lists of programs on these channels, what is on the air + lists of films by genre. When choosing something, you can get a link to streaming video from the server and show the user this video, possibly asking for a password to view it beforehand (for example, 18+ content). The user also has a personal account with various information, for example, favorite channels. Implementation is needed for large screens (TVs + set-top box), tablets and smartphones.

$500, taking into account further support within a month/two.
Major upgrades are charged separately.
Or $100 and sketch it on phonegap in 30 minutes. No support, no guarantees.
Price = (quality + ambition) * 2
The only thing they can answer you here is multiply the terms by the hourly rate. If this answer does not suit you, decide for yourself a reasonable amount.
I believe that since it is the first, you need to look at the amount for which they will gladly agree to take you. Those. minimum. After all, this is a commercial experience!
