Why is BIOS reset after shutdown via APC Smart UPS 600I?

Connected APC Smart UPS 600I to Ubuntu server, set up connection via rs232.
When the power is turned off, the uninterruptible power supply turns off the server itself, but the BIOS settings are reset!
What could be?

Is the uninterruptible power off completely? Then the BIOS battery may be dead.
