Why don't linux's work?
At one fine moment, ubuntu just stopped loading: I
select ubuntu in Grub and after that a black screen with a blinking cursor.
Google, everywhere, as a solution, they offer either to add nomodeset to the launch options or boot through recovery mode. Neither works.
The funny thing is, when you try to start from a live CD or USB drive, the same problem. Blinking cursor after selecting a launch option. Windows is working fine.
What could be the problem?

Problems need to be looked for in logs.
Usually these are problems with firewood on the video.
Solved a problem. I launched the oldest kernel that was in the system and ubunta started up. I really couldn’t get into the profile ... I pressed ctlr + alt + F4, logged in, ran update-grub , rebooted and it worked.
First problem: question. Where is the iron (especially video). Where are the logs? Have you installed a new kernel? Why was this not mentioned in the question? And like this: “something doesn’t work for me, help with something” and I have more questions for you than you have for Linux.
take a liveCD without WM\DE i.e. to a bare console, and look for a problem through this console.
