Why doesn't Wi-Fi work at close range?
I distribute the Internet from a smartphone (Vinfon) to an Android tablet, I noticed that if you put a smartphone next to the tablet, the latter loses connection. But if the smart is in your pocket or even at the other end of the room, everything works fine. Why can this be?

Any receiver has such a parameter as the input power range. It is limited not only from below, but also from above, and if the upper value is exceeded, it "shuts up". An input gain control circuit should help with this, but it also has its limits. Put any wifi monitoring app on your tablet and see what happens when you put it close.
