Why doesn't wi-fi kali linux work?

Wi-fi does not work in Kali Linux. When you open it in the settings under wi-fi, it says "unavailable", the visible networks field is empty. Ifconfig wlan writes "error fetching interface information: device not found"

Because the device was not found, they write to you in understandable English
