Why doesn't the ps3 home screen disappear?

Decided to sell my ps3. And before sale to format. I did a quick format, as the full one took a lot of time. After formatting, it was necessary to connect the joystick to the curling iron via a cable and press the PS button. I left it for later and turned off the console, after turning it on I connected the joystick via cable and pressed the PlayStation button. But nothing has changed and the initial screen has not disappeared. Tried again and nothing! Please explain how to fix this??

You cut off the curling iron during the firmware process. reflash from scratch (I haven’t encountered curling irons, I can be wrong)
