Why doesn't the MAC address change?
Hello, there was a need to change MAC Linux mint 17.3 decided to edit /etc/network/interfaces
Made changes, saved and restarted. Nothing has been preserved. After using the GUI menu of the network adapter, I registered the MAC and all changes were successful.
Why didn't the standard way of changing via /etc/network/interfaces work?
The file itself
# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
Added
hwaddress ether 01:a2:33:04 to this :d0:f1
Tried to specify before iface eth0 (This is exactly the right interface) to add auto parameters, etc. in general EVERYTHING I found on the forums.
Tried to create files interfaces.head interfaces.tail and write there. Zero result
What could be the problem?
