Why doesn't Skype work on Windows xp?
Friends need help! Skype doesn't work on Windows Xp here's a screenshot: I
downloaded old versions of Skype and was able to log in, updated XP, updated IE, rummaged through the entire Internet, but they still won't let me into Skype. Is it really possible to run Skype on xp?

In general, I found the reason, IE8 cannot connect to Skype servers, is there any solution to this problem?

Old versions do not work from 2014 and not only on XP. And if this is news - support for WinXP has ended since 2014, so ...
Not treated. secure.skype.com threw out all the ciphers that are in XP, and Microsoft did not start supporting AES in XP https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/12472... .
They seem to have a web version. So you can try it in your browser.
Esteemed different resources, someone IE 8 sausages, someone sews AES256.
Skype 7.36 fell off on XP two days ago and refused to log in, requiring account confirmation. I didn't receive any code in the mail. AES256 did not solve the problem, although the page for sending the code to email worked, the code itself did not come.
Generally. Solution for my problem.
Removed the shortcut that the program created during installation. Created a new one on skype.exe in the folder */Program Files/Skype/Phone".
In the properties of the shortcut, I changed the launch parameters of the object from the default
"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"
to
"C:\Program Files\ Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary /nosplash /username=yourlogin /password=yourpassword /legacylogin"
Do not lose the spaces before the slashes of the parameters.

Skype has a web version, which through the plugin works similarly to the desktop one (with notifications). Browser only - preferably on chromium.
