Why doesn't NetworkManager let me change the ssid?

And everything seems to be working well, but I can’t change the name of the ssid. He stubbornly resets it to the hostname, tried everything through the GUI and edit the configs manually, the result is the same, the ssid name is reset to the hostname.
OS: Linux Mint 18.3
