Why does windows 10 slow down and Linux doesn't?
I have a dual boot: windows 10 and elementary os.
Equipment: Notebook, 8Gb RAM, 1TB HDD, core i7 2.5 ghz, radeon x9 2Gb.
So the question is: why does Linux just flies with the ide open + debugger of a rather large Python project + 15 Chrome tabs on the second monitor. Windows 10 just chokes and freezes for 20 seconds even when I try to open the start, what could be the problem? I reinstalled the driver, cleaned the registry, danced with a tambourine. What other options?

Windows in general, and windows 10 in particular, is very demanding on the disk.
Constant recording in small blocks in the user profile, and the swap file - HDD can not cope, you need an SSD.
In order to verify this, simply open the resource monitor, on the disk tab, and look at the disk queue.
Because Windows 10 is made for money by greedy, spoiled people, and Linux is made with love and for free.
Win10 strongly desires ssd because of the heaps of background services that are rummaging through the broom. Linux, for the time being, is not so fond of rummaging through disks in the background.
What other options?
I recommend to see if the Windows Search service is enabled. It starts with a delay, but heavily loads the disk without much benefit.
