Why does the site load the processor (CPU) in Google Chrome?

Browser: Chrome 36.0.1985
Operating system: Mac OS 10.9.4
There is a load on the processor when scrolling. A couple of times caught in the task manager for Chrome. Chrome crashed once on the site pages.
In which direction to "dig"? What scripts on the site can significantly load the Chrome processor?
