Why does the second hard drive disappear after sleep mode?
Hello.
On a windows 10 laptop.
Installed a second HDD instead of a drive. It is visible in the bios. And it works AND is displayed in the system installed on the ssd disk.
But after switching to sleep mode, it disappears in the system. It is not visible in device manager.

In power saving modes, there is an option to turn off the hard drive (usually after 20 minutes if there is no access to it). It must be put - never. It helped me .
I assume that this is a combination of BIOS and system for some computers.
When entering sleep, the time counters and events are not reset correctly.
Whether the disk was spun up or not depends.
No: when you wake up from sleep, the activation process remembers that the disk was disconnected and it seems to be gone.
Yes: the drive worked and needs to be turned back on.
