Why does the screen go blank after 15 minutes of inactivity?

Faced the problem that after 15 minutes of inactivity, the screen on all monitors fades, but the PC remains working. In this case, after the screen fades, the processor load rises. As soon as you move the mouse or press the keyboard button, it turns on again.

I found the answer and decided to share it with the world because I didn’t find anything like it on the Internet.

--- The problem was NOT in the power settings or the screen saver! ---

My attempts to solve the situation did NOT help:

1) Disabling the screensaver
2) Changing the settings in the Windows power settings to "never", this also applies to the hard disk and screen settings (Changing advanced power settings).
3) Changing modes (S1,S2 ... S5) of power supply in Bios
4) Checking the video card, wires and motherboard for damage
5) Changing the settings in the video card control panel

Solution

In new versions of antiviruses or with their updates, they are given the right to change the power supply, regardless of the values set by the user. What right do they have to cut the screen time, I can’t imagine, and why is there such a cut in the gaming mode?

If you have this problem and all the above methods did not help you, then turn off quiet / game mode . Stumbled upon this literally by accident. From experience, I can say that this problem occurs with Avast Free / BitDefender antiviruses.

Attention: if you pause the antivirus (for example, 1 hour), it will not affect anything, the screen will continue to fade after 15 minutes.
